Today we learned about effective communication by Caitlin. In this we learned about what is effective communication, the act of conveying information is called as effective communication. In this what are the criteria to be follow and when we follow we learned.
Listening and hearing both are different. Active listening will help us to improve our knowledge, to understand the topic, to give respect to the speaker also we should follow these rules.
Pay attention; - Look directly, distracting thoughts mentally prepare, avoid distracting.
Show that you are listening; - nod accordingly, enhance to speak, verbal communication like ‘Yes, or No’.
Provide Feedback;-paraphrases, Ask questions, summarize periodically.
Be genuine;-Don’t give fake attention.
Listen between the lines;-listen to more than just what is being said.
Non verbal communication has four major factors;-

* Eye contact
* Facial expression
* Gestures
* Posture and body orientation
* Paralinguistic


At the end we discussed about listening in group through this I learned listening is most important. We got assignment for tomorrow is to discuss with our group about a topic and find out the solution for the problem and create questions on the topic.
